Celebration

celebrateI love being part of the Celebration Hop because it forces me to slow down and look for the good in everything that has taken place during the past week.

This week, I had my most successful day since I started blogging.  Wednesday’s post, The Land of Bigass Denial, got more hits than anything I’ve ever written.   I’ m not sure what it was about that particular post that struck such a nerve, but I can use this as a learning experience to become a better writer.

I also tackled a sensitive issue in my blog this week.  Initially, I let fear force me to take down what I had written, but 48 hours of mentally scolding myself really had an impact on me.  I eventually re-wrote it and put it back up.  I was a little bit disappointed that it didn’t get a bigger response; I thought more people were angrier about the salon incident involving the little autistic boy.

Chalk it up as another learning experience.

One last celebration this week has had nothing to do with writing:  we got our chickens!  I’ m learning to feed them and search for eggs, and I’ve only screamed and run away from one of them.

Author: A.J. Goode

I am a romance novelist, single mother of three, and a high school lunchlady. To be completely honest, I have no idea which of those jobs is the most rewarding and which is the biggest challenge. I love them all. I write romance novels about the kind of people who might pass me on the street every day. My characters are often hurting in some way, and need to learn to trust others in order to heal themselves. I also blog about trying to focus on writing, and about my day-to-day experiences in small-town America. I write about life. The good, the bad, and the just plain odd.
